New Energy

Understand the Economic and Ecologic Impact

Implementation for the Industrial Energy Transition

New Energy Systems are the backbone of industrial decarbonization. They reduce CO₂ emissions, cut energy costs, and strengthen resilience against volatile markets.

We focus on quick, scalable solutions:

Electrifying processes, recovering and storing waste heat, integrating hydrogen across the value chain, and leveraging renewables – all with a clear business case.

For industry, adopting these systems is not only a response to regulations and customer expectations. It’s a strategic move to stay competitive, reduce risk, and unlock new value.

Strategic Innovation & Technology Consulting

We identify and evaluate innovative energy and heat technologies/systems – always with a dual focus: cutting CO₂ emissions while ensuring economic viability.

Unlike others, we go beyond technical feasibility. Our assessments combine ecological impact with solid business cases, helping industrial companies worldwide transform their heat and energy systems sustainably and profitably.

Hydrogen Opportunity Identifier

We help companies define their role in the hydrogen economy by mapping existing strengths against market trends and unsolved technological challenges – from electrolyzers to infrastructure and fuel cells.

We translate insights into concrete market entry strategies, supported by expert interviews with leading voices from industry and research.

Implementation Support & Industrialization

We develop tailored sustainability and energy strategies – and turn them into measurable KPIs. Whether it's designing hydrogen logistics or implementing high-temperature heat pumps, we combine strategic foresight with hands-on execution.

With deep industry experience and a strong network in research and technology, we guide companies through complex energy transitions

Energy Transformation Coaching

We coach companies and individuals to master the energy transition – from building sustainable energy strategies to developing deep expertise in the hydrogen economy. Our focus: relevant knowledge, made actionable.

Through expert coaching and strategic guidance, we ensure insights are not only understood, but embedded in your organization’s daily practice.

Our New Energy focus area stands for comprehensive technology consulting and practical implementation solutions for decarbonizing industrial processes. As an innovation partner, we support companies on their path to climate-neutral production—strategically, technologically, and operationally.

Green Heat – Decarbonization Through Smart Heating Systems

We identify and evaluate alternative heating technologies that replace fossil fuels and are economically attractive at the same time. These include, in particular, electric heating systems, heat storage solutions, and high-temperature heat pumps.

Our technology scouting approaches are based on in-depth analyses and a broad network of research and industry contacts.

Hydrogen Economy – Industry Participation Along the Value Chain

We support companies in strategically positioning themselves in the hydrogen economy—from production and storage to utilization. In regional and European projects, we have established industrial networks, developed market development scenarios, and identified specific innovation needs in the form of white spot analyses.

High-Temperature Heat Pumps – Efficient Integration into Existing Production Processes

Our consulting services for the integration of high-temperature heat pumps (HTWP) are based on detailed process analyses and techno-economic assessments. HTWPs enable the electrical provision of process heat from waste heat sources and are particularly suitable for industries with heat requirements between 100–200°C (such as the paper or milk processing industries). We develop customized implementation strategies that take production quality, site conditions, and energy efficiency into equal consideration.

Selected Projects

Explore our showcased projects that demonstrate how we turn innovative ideas into sustainable energy solutions, driving economic growth, and circularity.

LH₂ Container Logistics – Establishing a Scalable Hydrogen Transport Chain

The “Mini-Reallabor LH₂-Containerlogistik” funding project aimed to demonstrate a prototype for a scalable, intermodal transport chain for liquid hydrogen – from producer to consumer. The focus was on regulatory, technical, and economic framework conditions for the industrial and logistics use of LH₂ and was carried out in collaboration with IFW Dresden and HHLA.

Key elements of the project:

  • Analysis of economic efficiency and sustainability along the entire value chain
  • Development and evaluation of business cases for LH₂ container logistics
  • Identification of regulatory hurdles in hinterland transport (road, rail, inland waterways)
  • Derivation of strategic recommendations for action for scaling and market entry

Development of an E-Mobility Strategy for a Medium-Sized Company in the Caravan Sector

The iterative project process comprises four key steps that ensure a systematic approach to project development and allow clients to continuously integrate feedback and make adjustments:

  1. Internal Analysis: Systematic recording and analysis of own skills & competences
  2. External Analysis: Analysis of the market and technology environment & alignment of the technol. future
  3. Development of a technology strategy
  4. Integrated technology planning: Development of a technology roadmap

In total, nine different fields of technology and innovation (e.g. propulsion systems "battery vs fuel cell", design of battery systems, innovative heating systems, etc.) were analyzed and evaluated based on company competencies.

Different scenarios (heat demand, electricity demand, power supply, etc.) were analyzed and a technology roadmap for the next 5 years was developed and prioritized with the top management.

Identification of Future Energy Systems with Focus on Sustainable Heat Provision

In order to achieve a 50 % reduction in CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030 the different options were to be assessed in terms of ecological and economic impact Our approach was the following.

  • Assessment of current energy provision in a Scope 1 and 2 intensive production with production plant visit
  • Analysis of fit between technological options and production process
  • Demonstrate non-technological, procurement related options

More than 15 different energy system technologies were evaluated economically and ecologically. In addition, the available options were prioritized in terms of the resources required and the achievable impact.
